Boston and I met briefly at AFC 1 in Sydney early this year when Aleksandra (Boston's wife and Eppeist from NSW) made the introduction. Few months before the comp, I was chatting to Aleks about doing a short interview on the concept of 'Husband and Wife fencers' as I admire their ongoing support for each other at every comps, also to discuss the 'Boston victory dance'. Although the video interview never took place, but I am glad to have spoken to them together and that we finally met.
I don't know Boston on a personal level, but as a photographer I get to know my subjects and their characters through the lens, sometimes more vivid than the naked eyes. In this photographic tribute, the photos capture his personality, mind, soul and emotions. I am certain anyone in the Australian fencing community who have met Boston would recognise - either Boston as a fencer, ref, coach or just his presence.
