On April 26th Fencing Victoria hosted Come Out and Fence as part of the Pride in Sport Festival for 2025. Our event was a sold out success and we are so proud of the fun day we had! Thank you to FV community members Laura Goodin, Alex Qu, Tuulia Ijas, Macy Page and Renee Cheung for giving their time and hearts to the day – it would not nearly have been so fun without you all!
We thank every single participant who Came Out and tried a new sport. We know how scary and daunting that can be. We hope that we’ll see you all in fencing clubs very soon.
Fencing Victoria’s community is one of acceptance and friendship and what better way to shine a light on that strength than to welcome in new friends from the LGBTQI+ community.
My extra thanks go to Ed Chiu for his ongoing support of FV’s pride initiatives.
